 Nepal Climate

Climate
The distinctive geography of Nepal has created three major areas with very different climatic conditions. The lush plains of the Terai and the foothills of the Himalaya have a very tropical climate; hot summers, very wet monsoons and mild winters. The densely forested midrange Mahabharat mountains have a sub-tropical climate. The Alpine region stretches across the belt of the high Himalayan mountains that demarcate a border with Tibet. They have mild summers, heavy monsoons and severe winters.
October till the month of April is the best period to visit Nepal. The monsoon begins in early June and lasts till mid-September. All outdoor activities come to a stand still at this stage. The best mountain views are in the post monsoon month of October when the air has been washed clean. Warm clothing is a must.
